Today we have exciting news!

The English version of Annelie Feder’s book “Eurasiers Yesterday and Today” will be available in December. It can be ordered directly from the author at or at .
The book costs 37.50 Euros, shipping and handling to the United States and Canada will add another 7.00 Euros. Payments can be made via Paypal.
This is the one great opportunity to acquire the comprehensive breed book in English. It is fascinating for Eurasier owners, Eurasier breeders and individuals who are simply interested in the breed alike. Thank you, Annelie Feder for writing this updated edition. I enjoyed translating this gem. A heartfelt thank you to Peter Mordan, Southern Eurasier Association UK, for proof-reading the translated manuscript.  ENJOY!!!!!!

For quite some time I did not update our blog due to lack of time. All my pups gave me a paws up to start over - but with frequent brief notes instead of occasional long articles. I liked that idea!  Eurasiers are smart pups - we all know that, don't we?

Here is a piece of news that we are quite proud of.  Out of the blue we were contacted by a very nice lady who asked us about this specific picture of Joy. And so my senior girl still has one proud highlight. She made the front cover of the

"Dogs of National Purebred Dog Day" calendar. We are so proud of our girl.

Check out their website - there are many other nice items for dog owners to order.

We are back, dear Eurasier friends!

The Deep Freeze

Long time no post! But here we are again - although mostly staying inside as the Northeast of  the U.S. is under a big cold spell.

While Eurasiers love the cold and enjoy so much to play in the snow they are not quite so excited at the moment as the snow is more or less solidly frozen and the dogs just slip and slide. The wind chill is currently around -26 degrees Celsius and the dogs are not pleased with those conditions either. They beg me to go out, only to take a few steps, feel the freezing air and come back in. For Maja, who is 12 1/2 years old, it is hardest to walk around on this kind of icy snow but Maja is a trooper and she ventures out to take her rounds in our large back yard. We are trying hard to "think spring" and can't await to be out in fields and woods again.

Until spring comes around and if you are a Eurasier owner in North America, join the North American Eurasier group on Facebook. Posting photos and talking Eurasier can help to bridge the time until the first Eurasier walks occur again! Maybe you meet some new Eurasier friends who live in your area. Wouldn't it be fun to meet in person?

I would like to let all of my Eurasier Magazine recipients know that the spring edition of "Eurasier International" will not be published in time by the end of March due to some time restrictions that I am facing but I hope to bring  interesting topics and pictures from Germany once the issue will be ready to go.

Stay warm, Eurasier friends! Contributions and subscriptions for the magazine are always accepted at I will be pleased to include your submissions.

Talk to you soon, Ute with Maja, Joy, Enya and Ziva

Hello Eurasier Friends,
Welcome to the North Star Eurasier blog where we hope to keep you updated on how our pack is doing, share some pictures, stories or interesting facts about our Eurasier breed in the US and Europe.  Hope this will be fun!!
Here Enya enjoys the fresh snow that we still had yesterday while it was pouring today and none of the dogs were eager to set a paw outside of the door!
